ADFS authentication direct to StoreFront 3.9 using SAML and Citrix Federated Authentication Service
Starting StoreFront 3.9, it is possible to use SAML authentication direct to StoreFront with ADFS and integrate that with the Citrix Federated Authentication Service. Users authenticate at the Identity Provider, the assertion is sent to StoreFront, a certificate is issued for authenticating to the VDA.
Import NetScaler Gateway configuration in to StoreFront
It was quoted back at Citrix Synergy 2016 that the ability to import NetScaler Gateway configurations in to StoreFront was coming and it is here. StoreFront 3.6 that was released alongside XenApp & XenDesktop 7.9 can import NetScaler Gateway configurations that have been created using NetScaler firmware versions 11.1 build 48.10 and higher. No longer do you have to manually configure the NetScaler configuration within StoreFront. NetScaler 11.1.51.21 added the ability to export multiple NetScaler Gateway configurations and StoreFront 3.9 added the ability to import multiple configurations and hand select configurations to import.
Citrix Self-Service Password Reset
StoreFront self-service password reset was first introduced with XenApp/XenDesktop FMA version 7.8. This feature grants users the ability to reset their own Active Directory passwords from the Receiver for Web or Receiver client and/or unlock their account.
Note: In the Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 2003 release, Citrix announced that SSPR is deprecated.
Adding StoreFront applications and desktops to Clientless Access on NetScaler Unified Gateway
Did you know it is possible to access XenApp/XenDesktop applications and desktops straight from the Clientless Access portal when using NetScaler? This eliminates the need for users to click and open “Virtual App and Desktop Access” (part of Client Choices) since instead the resources are integrated right in to the Clientless Access section.
StoreFront as the Default IIS Page and optimizations
The option to make StoreFront (pre SF3.5) Receiver for Web the default page/document in IIS simply does not exist within the StoreFront console like it used to back in legacy Web Interface. What I mean is that if I was to browse to my StoreFront server via https://storefront I’d get the iisstart.htm IIS 8.5 page.
